We are currently recruiting for Development Officers (one in Fargo, ND, and one in Minot, ND) to raise support for agency programs and services. You follow agency protocol in the acquisition, cultivation, and solicitation of current and potential donors. You implement stewardship and generosity principles and fund raising program(s) as directed and serve as an ambassador of the organization.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
As part of the Mission Advancement Team (MAT) assist in establishing short- and long-range goals/strategies for identifying funding sources.
Manage an assigned list of donors, prospects, congregations and church related groups (e.g., LWML, WELCA, etc.) from a designated geographic region.
Help acquire new donors.
Provide leadership with the Agency's prospect management system, compiling and analyzing information about potential contributors, including corporations, and businesses to develop a cultivation and solicitation strategy.
Take pledges and funds from contributors, acknowledge those gifts as received and provide an appropriate thank you.
As part of MAT, assist with agency special events attend appropriate meetings, and as necessary fill in for other Development Officers and assist with Servant Teams.
The person in this position may travel up to 50% of their time to their designated geographic area.

Education and/or Experience:
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preference is given to individuals with previous fundraising/development experience.
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Database software; Development software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
