Take Two Actions to Protect the Charitable Giving Incentive

Join the North Dakota Association of Nonprofit Organizations (NDANO) in IMMEDIATELY telling Congress to protect and not weaken the charitable giving incentive that helps nonprofit organizations provide essential programs and services in our communities.

On Nov. 7, nearly 4,000 nonprofits from North Dakota and across the country sent letters to the Supercommittee of Congress informing them that they cannot continue to cut public programs and expect nonprofits to fill in their gaps and pick up their slack. You can go to www.GiveVoice.org to see the letters that were sent to Congress, including the names of all the nonprofits from our state and elsewhere that have signed.

Now is the time for all charitable nonprofits to raise their voices on behalf of the people and communities they serve. Here are two simple actions you can take to make a difference:

1. Call, email and/or tweet your Member of Congress (find contact information and key messages here); and

2. Send this message to all you know who care about the vital work that nonprofits do in our communities, urging them to take these two simple steps, too – including sending this message to their board members, staff members, volunteers, donors, friends and family members!
