The Nonprofit Good Practice Guide.  A project of The PNKM Initiative at the Johnson Center.  It is a free resource directory and learning tool, providing good practice information to assist in improving the efficiency and effectiveness of nonprofit performance.

The Council on Foundations - An association of foundations and corporations, serving the public good by promoting and enhancing effective and responsible philanthropy.
The Foundation Center - Serving the needs of grant makers and grant seekers.
Grantsmanship Center - Programs and announcements to assist the grant seeker.
Guidestar - Searchable database of over 600,000 charities and nonprofits.
Independent Charities of America - A nonprofit organization that pre-screens and certifies the charities it presents to potential donors via Web-based giving, workplace giving programs, and other low-cost fund-raising methods. Charities are reviewed and certified annually.
The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation - The nation’s largest philanthropy devoted exclusively to health and health care.
John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation - Dedicated to helping groups and individuals to improve the human condition.
Medtronic Corporation - Focusing on education, community, and health, with priority given to programs that benefit people of color and those who are economically disadvantaged and programs with older adult volunteers.
The Aspen Institute’s Nonprofit Sector Research Fund - Making grants to further knowledge and understanding of the nonprofit sector.
The Pew Charitable Trusts - Encouraging individual development and personal achievement, cross-disciplinary problem solving and innovative, practical approaches to meeting the changing needs of a global community.

The Foundation Center - Serving the needs of grant makers and grant seekers. The Foundation Center Cooperating Collections are located in state libraries in each state. The cooperating collections offer a wide variety of services and comprehensive collections of information on foundations and grants. In North Dakota we have two cooperating collections located in Bismarck at the Bismarck Public Library, 515 North 5th Street, Bismarck and the Fargo Public Library, 102 North 3rd Street, Fargo. These cooperating collections have a variety of publications that can assist your organization with future funding sources.

AllCharities.com - A searchable database of charities and nonprofits that channels 100 percent of on-line donations to recipient organizations. The site also sells Web-based services to nonprofits and provides a mechanism for organizations to securely receive donations.
American Heart Association - Fighting heart disease and stroke.
American Philanthropy Review - Discussion for and more.
American Red Cross - Disaster relief and other terrific services.
Amnesty International - Human rights on the web. Plus access to many other sites.
Charity Village - Canadian Centre for encouraging nonprofits and charities.

The Chronicle of Philanthropy - The Newspaper of the Nonprofit World.
Helping.org - This AOL-sponsored site is designed as a one-stop on-line resource to help people find volunteer and giving opportunities in their local communities and beyond. The site also provides on-line resources and tools to help nonprofits utilize the Internet in their strategic planning, recruiting, and fund-raising.

The Electronic Policy Network - A group of research and advocacy organizations and publications that provide online analysis of economics, politics, social trends, and public policy.
The Environmental Support Center - Provides training, management and developmental subsidies to nonprofits that work on environmental issues
Exempt Organization Search - Limited but useful directory of tax-exempt nonprofits; identification of state of organization gives access to fuller directory information at Nonprofit Locator website.
Greenpeace - Go exploring with the environmental organization and their fleet of ships.
Impact Online - Facilitate and increasing community involvement; seeking to complement existing services and build on community resources to get more people involved.

The Isoph Institute is where the nonprofit community comes to learn and collaborate.  At the Isoph Institute you can enroll in affordable online courses, host live online learning seminars, presentations and meetings for your organization, access relevant resources, and engage in threaded discussions.
