A strategic plan turns words into action as a living, breathing guide for your organization. Participants in this workshop will understand the role of their organization's strategic plan, why it's important, who should be involved, what guides it, and its use and application. Specifically, this workshop will delve into the following questions:
This workshop will be presentational and conversational; it will include large group and small breakouts. It is targeted to any and all who are needing guidance on their strategic planning process and don't know where to start. Participants will walk away with concrete ideas of how to be a supportive member of their organization's development of a strategic plan and how to turn words into action.
Presenter Sandra J. Agustin
Sandra J. Agustin has an extensive history of arts and social and racial justice leadership. She is a native Minnesotan, the youngest child of a Filipino immigrant and 5th generation Euro-Minnesotan. Since the age of 9, she has professionally performed and taught dance, later moving into arts administration as executive and artistic director at Intermedia Arts. She has served as artistic director at the Neighborhood House in St. Paul, and as program officer at the Minnesota State Arts Board managing multiple programs made possible through the Legacy Amendment. She is a former co-artistic core member of Mu Performing Arts.
Agustin has served on the board of directors for the Minnesota Citizens for the Arts, Minnesota Dance Alliance, Pimsler Dance and Theater Company, Somali Documentary Project, and Charities Review Council, and has served on numerous funding panels. As a facilitator, Sandra's clients include entities such as ArtPlace America, NeighborWorks, Southwest Minnesota Housing Partnership, University of Minnesota's Art's Leadership program, Million Artist Movement, the City of Minneapolis via ReCast, and in 2000, assisted in the design of the Institute for Creative Community Development alongside Bill Cleveland of the Center for the Study of Art and Community. Agustin is currently the Director of Creative Engagement for Inspire-to-Change, a new organization dedicated to purpose driven change through evaluation and strategic planning via consulting and coaching.
