 t 2:00 pm Central</b>\, the National Council of Nonprofits will host an up
 dated national presentation – for free – to help all in the charitable com
 munity understand the various provisions of the two laws and what they mea
 n for nonprofits. \n\nThe <b>Families First Coronavirus Response Act</b> c
 reated new workplace obligations for employers and expanded supports for i
 ndividuals affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. Eight days later\, the <b>Co
 ronavirus Aid\, Relief\, and Economic Security Act</b> (CARES Act) authori
 zed more than $2 trillion in spending to inject cash into the economy\, bu
 sinesses\, and nonprofits. There is a great deal to unpack:\n\n<ul><li>Man
 dated paid sick and family leave and refundable payroll tax credits</li>\n
 <li>Generous loan funds for small (< 500 employees) and mid-size (between
