 ce grant writing to nonprofit professionals who have less than one year of
  experience with the skill. Many people working in nonprofits find themsel
 ves in the position of “accidental grant-writer” and do not feel fully equ
 ipped for the challenge. This session will provide a balance of applicable
  content and resources to deepen participants’ knowledge of and skills in 
 grant writing.\n\nParticipants will have an opportunity to learn about the
  basics of grant-seeking. This session will dig into the basic elements of
  foundation research and grant planning. This is a beginner-level workshop
 .\n\n<b>Learning Objectives</b>\n<ul><li>Deepen your understanding of the 
 Minnesota funding landscape.</li>\n<li>Learn about the types of foundation
 s providing grants to Minnesota’s nonprofits.</li>\n<li>Develop an underst
 anding of the sections of a grant proposal including budgeting and evaluat
 ion.</li></ul>\n\nWorkshop participants will receive a copy of the Handboo
 k for Successful Grantwriting that covers topics ranging from research and
  planning to a glossary of commonly used terms. The Handbook is only avail
 able to participants and is not otherwise for sale.\n\n<b>Technology Requi
 rements</b>\nThis training is hosted in Adobe Connect. You will need a com
 puter with a reliable high-speed internet connection to participate in the
  training. (While Adobe Connect does have a mobile app\, its functionality
  is limited and does not support all the engagement tools that MCN uses du
 ring virtual trainings. Therefore\, MCN does not recommend using a smartph
 one or tablet to view the training.)\n\nAudio is available via your comput
 er or your phone\; choose the audio connection that provides you with the 
 best sound quality. Please note: Using your computer for audio can sometim
 es negatively affect your experience\, particularly if your Wi-Fi signal i
 s not strong or your broadband connection is slow. Therefore\, MCN highly 
 recommends that you have access to a phone which can serve as a back-up au
 dio method during the training. MCN cannot issue a refund or reschedule th
 e training for you if you are not prepared with a back-up audio method (ph

  Sánchez</b> is an entrepreneurial\, donor-centric strategist with more th
 an two decades of experience increasing revenue\, engaging stakeholders\, 
 and furthering organizational missions. Her previous philanthropic portfol
 io includes Mayo Clinic\, the Women’s Foundation of Minnesota\, and variou
 s Twin Cities nonprofits\, as well as political and foundation engagement.
  Aileen helped co-found the Latino Economic Development Center and also th
 e New World School of the Arts Alumni Foundation in her hometown of Miami.
  She has also helped build diversity\, equity\, and inclusion initiatives 
 at various institutions.\n\nAileen received her B.A. from Oberlin College\
 ; M.B.A. from Augsburg University\; Oberlin College Community Action Fello
 wship\; Mayo Clinic Bronze Quality Fellowship\; Metro State University Com
 munity Development Careership\; and Hispanics in Philanthropy Next Generat
 ion Philanthropy Fellowship. She is the director of development and commun
 ications for Genesys Works Twin Cities and serves on the board of the Asso
 ciation of Fundraising Professionals Minnesota Chapter and the Latino Econ
 omic Development Center.
