 s workshop will introduce grantwriting to nonprofit professionals who have
  less than one year of experience with the skill. Many people who work in 
 nonprofits find themselves in the position of “accidental grantwriter” and
  do not feel fully equipped for the challenge. This training will provide 
 content and resources to deepen participants’ knowledge of and skills in g
 rantwriting.\n \nParticipants will have an opportunity to learn about the 
 basics of grantseeking. This session will dig into the basic elements of f
 oundation research and grant planning. This is a beginner-level workshop.
 \n\n<b>In this Training You Will:</b>\n-Deepen your understanding about th
 e Minnesota funding landscape\;\n-Learn about the types of foundations pro
 viding grants to Minnesota’s nonprofits\; and\n-Develop an understanding o
 f the sections of a grant proposal including budgeting and evaluation.\n\n
 Workshop participants will receive a digital copy of the Handbook for Succ
 essful Grant Writing that covers topics ranging from research and planning
  to a glossary of commonly used terms. The Handbook is only available to p
 articipants and is not otherwise for sale.\n\n<b>Speaker Information:</b>
 \nAileen Rosa Sánchez is an entrepreneurial\, donor-centric strategist wit
 h more than two decades of experience increasing revenue\, engaging stakeh
 olders\, and furthering organizational missions. Sánchez’s previous philan
 thropic portfolio includes Mayo Clinic\, the Women’s Foundation of Minneso
 ta\, and various Twin Cities nonprofits\, as well as political and foundat
 ion engagement. She helped co-found the Latino Economic Development Center
  and also the New World School of the Arts Alumni Foundation in her hometo
 wn of Miami. She has also helped build diversity\, equity\, and inclusion 
 initiatives at various institutions.\n\nSánchez received her B.A. from Obe
 rlin College\; M.B.A. from Augsburg University\; Oberlin College Community
  Action Fellowship\; Mayo Clinic Bronze Quality Fellowship\; Metro State U
 niversity Community Development Careership\; and Hispanics in Philanthropy
  Next Generation Philanthropy Fellowship. She is the director of developme
 nt and communications for Genesys Works Twin Cities and serves on the boar
 d of the Association of Fundraising Professionals Minnesota Chapter and th
 e Latino Economic Development Center.
