 gal services to the Synod and the leadership of more than 150 Lutheran chu
 rch corporations within the Synod. In addition\, he is the pro bono counse
 l to the North Dakota Association of Nonprofit Organizations (NDANO) and s
 everal 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organizations. Previously\, he was the in-hous
 e general counsel of an international specialty medical association locate
 d in St. Paul\, MN. He retired from the North Dakota Army National Guard i
 n 1996 as a brigadier general and was recalled as a major general in 1997 
 (Red River flood – Grand Forks) and 2011 (Souris River flood – Minot) as t
 he State Flood Recovery Coordinator.
