Meet a Member: University of North Dakota Alumni Association & Foundation

University of North Dakota Alumni Association & Foundation The UND Alumni Association & Foundation fosters a tradition of philanthropic support, leading efforts to raise and manage funds that secure a strong future for the UND and its students, faculty and alumni. By promoting a sense of pride, excitement and loyalty for UND, it keeps graduates, former students and special friends involved in the ongoing growth and development of UND. It partners with all colleges and unites to act as the University’s designated fundraising organization. In the spirit of stewardship and fiduciary responsibility, the UND Alumni Association & Foundation is leading the University through campaigns to grow its endowment and secure a solid financial future that benefits the continued educational and economic development of the state of North Dakota.

Currently, the UND Alumni Association & Foundation is leading North Dakota Spirit | The Campaign for UND, whose goal is to dedicate $300 million to the University and is the largest capital campaign in state history. The organization serves the second-largest employer in the state as it creates the next generation of leaders and professionals.

One primary building project that we are now seeing come to fruition is the Gorecki Alumni Center, a place where the campus frequently gathers, and a front door that welcomes students, their parents, alumni and friends. The stunning building is a champion of environmental sustainability, striving for LEED Platinum certification, the highest level of energy efficiency as recognized by the U.S. Green Building Council. It would be the first LEED Platinum building in the state, and the first alumni center in the country to seek LEED Platinum certification. It puts North Dakota on the map for sustainability, an essential approach for the well-being of our planet, and provides a living laboratory for students and visitors studying green technologies.
