Meet a Member: Sleepy Hollow Theatre and Arts Park

Sleepy Hollow Theatre and Arts Park

The mission of Sleepy Hollow Theatre and Arts Park (SHTAP) is to play a significant role in the welfare and educational growth of citizens while nurturing youth by providing quality pre-professional educational opportunities in the arts that result in the cultural enrichment of our communities and state.

With a vision to grow quality programming, supported by outstanding facilities, SHTAP's goal is to become a major cultural entity capable of attracting tourists along with our communities. In 2011, SHTAP was recognized with the ND Governor's Award for the Arts.

SHTAP has involved young people in quality educational experiences that attract thousands of people annually to programming including four weeks of classes, Midsummer Festival and two Broadway-style musicals outdoors, plus other special events throughout the year. Crowds in 2013 numbered over 9,000 people. SHTAP is totally responsible for the management and development of the 35-acre park. Recent park improvements include a $400,000 outdoor stage with orchestra pit, wedding/event sites and, this year, entrance steeples, amphitheater grading, gazebo relocation, light towers and pergola. Outdoor productions planned for 2014 are the central/western North Dakota premieres of Shrek: The Musical and Chicago July 14-Aug. 6 with shows changing every weekend.
