Meet a Member: Minot Public School Foundation

The Minot Public School Foundation was created to pursue private funding to assure the continuance of the district’s tradition of excellence. The mission of the Foundation is to preserve, promote and enhance the quality of education of the Minot Public School District. The foundation has been the support arm for much of the Minot Public School Flood Recovery Funds. Monetary support arrived from throughout the nation to help make a difference. Students received supplies and educators were assisted in replacing supplementary teaching supplies lost in a flooded school or home. Grants are also made available to educators to enrich the curriculum and enhance the learning of students. When school funding is not available for a special project initiated by a teacher, the Foundation is available for financial support. Reunion committees for MHS classes may rely on the Foundation staff to assist in communicating with the graduates. A major fundraiser for the Foundation has been the Swing into Spring – Concert and Dance. The Minot Community Concert Band provides a concert, and a dance band with big band sound provides music for the dance. Individuals and businesses provide the sponsorships.
