Nonprofits are consumed with communicating about metrics. How tight is the budget? How big is the impact? How many are served? Yet as a communicator, you know metrics don’t really capture what matters about your mission. In this session, MCN will help you escape the tyranny of measurement to tell more meaningful stories about the value of your nonprofit’s work.
MCN will talk about ways to re-conceptualize the metrics your organization already collects so you can tell more meaningful stories. They'll also think through ways your organization’s work resists being reduced to metrics, and explore how you can communicate powerfully about those measurement-resistant forms of value. Bring along a real-life metric you’ve had to communicate about as an example so we can work on it together.
