There are many different ways exempt organizations may be structured to promote growth, retain tax-exempt status and ease administrative oversight. Take a look at the various entity structure types employed by exempt organizations and related entities. Review structural relationships and the use of disregarded entities, fiscal sponsorship arrangements, as well as the different considerations for agency transactions that occur within the realm of exempt organization accounting. Review key tax considerations of the transactions and setup, the need for possible arrangements and the impact on tax-exempt status and oversight. You will leave this session with a balanced overview of exempt organization entity structure as well as the pros and cons of fiscal sponsorship arrangements and their role in assisting organizational growth and management.
