The James Memorial Preservation Society (JMPS) was formed in 1993 to save the historic James Memorial Library from destruction. The mission of the JMPS is to preserve the character and integrity of the building known as the James Memorial Art Center through ongoing restoration and to provide the public and itself with the means and the location to promote and present visual arts, historical and educational programs, and other events in keeping with the spirit of the organization.
