Meet a Member: Artwise

The mission of ArtWise is to provide elementary art programs for children in the area of Greater Grand Forks. They believe hands-on learning through the visual arts is a key element in children's physical, emotional and intellectual development. ArtWise programs rely on local artists, school, city and business partners, and volunteer groups to organize and maintain a series of children's activities and events.

ArtWise provides an annual elementary art show, support for classroom artists in the public schools, art camps and displays of children's art. They also provide children's activities for local community festivals.

For 23 years, Grand Forks children have learned to express their creativity through engaging, standards-based activities in schools, at art camps and at community festivals. Teachers and classroom artists work together to help children have fun at school as they learn the elements of art. Young adult artists learn how to share their passion for the visual arts as they engage children and families at camps and area festivals. Each spring the community enjoys the display of children's visual art expressions at an annual art show.
